Get Started

CrossFit Pella focuses on training your body to move the way it is meant to – increasing your energy, health and physical performance. We increase your levels of general athleticism by training you through constantly varied exercise sequences – the body is then forced to adapt. The general idea behind CrossFit is to do constantly varied, functional movements at high intensity.

All exercises prescribed in the “Workout of the Day” (WOD) are adaptable to suit your personal fitness and skill level, and will help you reach your fitness goals faster and more effectively than any other program out there. If you need adaptions, our skilled and certified coaches can make those adaptions for you as well.

Because the CrossFit method is designed for scalability, it’s perfect for any committed individual regardless of age, fitness or experience. Don’t wait to get into shape, get started!

So how do you get started?

We take our athletes through a “foundations” class. Foundations is typically a 2-session class; it is designed to get our athletes familiar with the vocabulary, movements, and programming at CrossFit Pella.  Our goal is to provide athletes the tools to participate in regular classes safely and confidently, regardless of their current fitness level.  Following foundations, you will have an understanding of your individual weight lifting capabilities, scalable options for regular class WODs, and skills that target mobility.  For anybody new to CrossFit, Foundations classes are required prior to proceeding with regular class (WODs) attendance. During the foundations class time we will also discuss the athletes goals in doing CrossFit, discuss any limitations, and other concerns.

If you have over 2 months of previous (and recent) CrossFit experience and are confident with movements including but not limited to the squat (in all positions), deadlift, clean, snatch, jerk (and all other overhead movements), please contact Andi at 641-780-7366 to get started.
